Gover House is situated on the shore of Fisher Cove in Trinity. With breathtaking water views from both bedrooms, the living room and deck, this peaceful setting provides a tranquil contrast to everyday routine and a prime vantage point for Trinity’s breathtaking sunsets. Trips to Discover named Gover House amongst their pick of 12 properties in the world with a view worth travelling for.  This 1840s restored Salt Box is a registered heritage structure (learn more here) and is one of the oldest properties in Newfoundland one can privately rent, allowing guests to experience history while also enjoying modern amenities. Gover House is within walking distance of Rising Tide Theatre, Trinity’s historic sites, numerous artisan shops, restaurants, whale watching, iceberg tours and Hike Discovery Trails. Despite its proximity to countless activities, it is situated at the end of an English garden path in a peaceful area of town, allowing guests to easily switch between calming seclusion and experiencing all the area has to offer. Artisan Inn staff will help you plan the perfect itinerary, but remember when reserving to book enough time to enjoy the relaxing setting of the property.

There is one bedroom located on the first floor of the house with queen bed and one bedroom (double bed) and two bathrooms (both with showers) located on the second floor. The first floor also has an L shaped sitting/dining/kitchen area with single pull out couch. up to 5 people can stay in the Gover House if the pull-out couch is used (rate is based on 1-4 guests) however this waterside cottage is one of our top picks for a cozy couple’s retreat. A private deck is located adjacent to the house. The Gover House Vacation Home is located 1 minute by foot from the Twine Loft where both breakfast and dinner options are available.

Special notes: There is a path that guests must walk down to access the house and both washrooms are located on the second floor.

One of the great advantages of an Artisan Inn Vacation Home is that the inn’s staff are on hand to assist guests with self-catering homes. If the wi-fi is down, you cannot operate the TV, if you experience a plumbing issue or if you just need directions to the nearest grocery store, just let us know.

Breakfast and daily turndown services are not included with vacation home rentals.

Check In: 4pm You may check in earlier if the property is ready.  If you wish to check in after 6pm please notify the office ahead of time. Check in is located on the 2nd floor of the Twine Loft (red building by the water).

Check Out Time: 10:30am This allows our staff the necessary time to turn over the property for the next stay. If you would like a later check out, please notify us during your stay and we can confirm the day prior if it is possible.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS: This house can sleep 1-5 guests, however we feel it is best suited for up to 4. Depending on the date you have booked, the rate may be based on the number of guests you have selected, so please ensure that number is accurate.  If you are part of a group renting multiple properties in Trinity, please note that a maximum of 8 people can be in the property at one time, unless permission has been granted by Artisan Inn.  If we see that this rule is not being respected you may be asked to leave prior to your reservation being over or incur an additional charge should damage occur or extra cleaning be required.
