The newest festival to hit the Bonavista Peninsula, Roots Rants and Roars goes into its third year this fall (2013) The festival, spear headed by Newfoundland chef and Top Chef Canada contestant Todd Perrin, unites the powerful flavours of creative Newfoundland cuisine with performances by award winning local talent all amidst the rugged beauty of coastal Newfoundland
Some things to expect… 
On night one play judge to the creations of various Newfoundland chefs and vote for this year’s “King of Cod”
Take a 5km hike, escorted by an actual troubadour, with gourmet
food in one hand and fine Canadian wine in the other along the coastal trails of Elliston.Discuss cooking methods with some of Canada’s top chefs while taking in the rocky cliffs, crashing waves, root cellar dotted hills and colourful clothes drying on the line.
Savour the fine flavours of a Newfoundland pig,
roasted for hours as some of Newfoundland’s best musical acts take the stage to entertain you.
