What does the Bonavista Peninsula have to offer during the Fall Season?
Come visit us during berry season on the Bonavista Peninsula.
Hike Skerwink or one of the other 5 trails in the recently developed Hike Discovery Trail Network, which lead to awe inspiring rock formations, beautifully built lighthouses and coastlines with views that will stop you in your tracks. Photograph the Root Cellar Capitol of the world in Elliston or take a peak over the edge at the Dungeon Provincial Park in Bonavista. See if you can find the Devil’s Footprints in Keels or marvel beneath the Arches at Tickle Cove.
Visit some of Newfoundland’s abandoned, but not forgotten, outports with captain Bruce Miller on his Rugged Beauty Boat Tour in New Bonaventure as he brings his own personal stories of these disappeared communities to life. New Bonaventure has also been nicknamed "Hollywood East" as it was used as the primary setting for movies such as Random Passage, The Shipping News and The Grand Seduction.
The historic sites of Trinity will remain open until the Thanksgiving Weekend. These seven buildings, all within walking distance of the Artisan Inn transform the town into a living museum experience. Drop into the forge to talk to the town's blacksmith or pop into the cooperage to watch the local cooper make fishermen's lunch boxes amongst other fine crafted products.
In the evenings, relax and put up your feet on the Twine Loft deck and pass the time capturing that perfect picture of the setting sun (the best sunsets on the Bonavista Peninsula happen in October!). Sip on a Newfoundland beer or perhaps a martini with gin crafted from iceberg water. We know it can get chilly being right on the water, so we have cozy blankets on hand to keep you warm.
For dinner, guests will experience a candle lit multi course meal in the Twine Loft dining room, prepared by the local cook in our open kitchen. While it is a set menu, a fish and meat option will always be offered and vegetarian and gluten free options can be prepared by advance request. Our well-trained local staff will be happy to answer your questions about the area and help you plan your next day.
In the mornings, return to the Twine Loft for complimentary continental breakfast including: fresh baked muffins and tea buns, homemade jams, cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, coffee, teas and juice. Hot Breakfast items may als
