History of Campbell House
Shortly after their arrival in Newfoundland, John and Tineke were invited to
Trinity by David and Florence White, members of a well known Trinity family.
Within a few years, the Town had worked its magic and Tineke and John were
undertaking the restoration of their own piece of Trinity history, a home
located near the shore of Fisher Cove and known locally as the Gover house. A decade later
an adjacent and larger home was purchased.
A search of the archives showed that James Campbell, a prominent teacher of
navigation had lived there. Restoration began and with it the beginnings of
Campbell House. The family has been pleased to have seen and participated in
a decade of revival of interest and opportunity in Trinity and the
surrounding area.
