This route starts from Trinity and passes through Port Union on its way to the town of Bonavista, where John Cabot first landed in North America.

Port Union is the only Union Built town in North America.  A stop in Port Union may include

A tour of the restored Factory building, with its period woodworking machinery and the array of presses and equipment used by the union paper, The Fishermen's Advocate (opens in May) 

Perusing selected back issues of the Advocate, which began publishing in 1910

Taking a walking tour of the town site, with interpretive panels that tell parts of the Port Union story 

A hike along the beautiful coastline

A visit the house of William Coaker, the head of the Fisherman’s Union.
