Distance from the Artisan Inn Trinity:

1 hour 19 minutes, 88 km

Head from Trinity on Route 230 direction Clarenville.

Turn right onto Route 235 heading in the direction of Bonavista.

This route is dotted with small communities built along rugged coastlines.  During May and June visitors may have the chance to see icebergs floating in the waters and during the months of July and August whales can often be spotted feeding on Capelin.

Adventurous visitors can go off the beaten path and drive to the communities of Red Cliff, Tickle cove and Keels. Take a look at a geological formation known as The Devi's Footprints.

The communities of Open Hall and Red Cliff were also used as the setting for the soon to be released movie The Grand Seduction starring Brendan Gleeson, Taylor Kitsch and Gordon Pinsent.

Those who wish to walk awhile can enjoy a hike to the lighthouse at King’s Cove

For a change of scenery and more attractions and activities drive along Route 230 back to Trinity!

Where to Eat: While on Route 235 turn into Upper Amhert Cove and check out the Bonavista Social Club, the best pizza place in all of Newfoundland.  This restaurant, built by wood worker Michael Paterson and run by daughter Katie Hayes was listed at #26 of the Top 50 places to eat in Canada in 2013 on www.vacay.ca.

Besides for these tastey pizzas prepared in a brick oven, try their moose burger when it is in season and their sparkling rhubbarb lemonade.

They also make a variety of their own breads which are perfect to bring home if you are renting one of the Artisan Inn's self catering vacation homes.
